Zero Day

Zero Day is a planet-wide celebration of Zero, the first Foozle, who created the machine by which Foozles reproduce.

Background

Zero day celebrates Zero the Foozle, and their creation of the Foozle race.

Zero was the name of the first Foozle, who was created in a laboratory as a unique, and singular lifeform.

Some time after being created, Zero cobbled together the first version of the duplicating system by which Foozles reproduce. Zero then stepped into this device and created the biopattern that every subsequent Foozle has been imprinted from. As such, every Foozle carries the memories of Zero up to the moment of being copied. As it has been reported, the first thing a new Foozle says upon being created by the system is "Did it work?"

Customs

Zero the Foozle was an albino. So, while each and every Foozle has chosen their own unique identity by using color dyes and other technologies to give themselves a unique visual look, they are also all albinos.

On Zero Day, Foozles from around the galaxy travel to Boink to celebrate the first Foozle by removing their coloring and identities - to essentially become Zero again for the day. In this way, they celebrate their shared existence, their shared origins, and their sense of togetherness.

It's a fairly low-key holiday, whose most notable event is a musical concert at Nude Beach.

It also serves as a gesture of love towards the actual Zero, who is said to be living anonymously somewhere among the rest of the Foozles on Boink.
