Appearance
Cobalt appears to be a four-foot tall, gray furred teddy bear with blue eyes. Around the top of his head is a silver tiara-style hoop, with a five pointed silver star on the front.
He habitually wears blue clothing, when dressed. When preferable, it is made of a metallic fabric.
He usually wears a black cord around his neck like a necklace, holding a small stone. Originally this stone was a fragment of the Delosian homeworld, but after the Delos were released into this dimension, it was replaced with a pebble from Nude Beach on Boink.
History
After falling into this dimension during the events of the Delosian Exodus, Cobalt drifted around for a few years living a somewhat nomadic lifestyle during which time he took on a wide variety of odd jobs to earn money. These included, but are not limited to, burger cook in a fast food restaurant, a nude pole dancer, assistant cargo pilot, harem boy, and third string backup guitar in a studio band of session musicians. During these travels he met and befriended Twinkle The Foozle, and the two eventually settled down into a home together. He spent a few years working as a freelance commercial artist, before fate finally called upon him to step up and follow in the footsteps of his parents by becoming a Stellar Alliance ambassador.
Cobalt as The Last Delos
For the first few years after arriving in this dimension, Cobalt believed himself to be the The Last Delos: the only survivor of his doomed race. And, while this was a bit of a downer, it did at least give him a tragic backstory deemed acceptable by the League of Galactic Heroes. That was all undone however, when the Delos turned out to merely be hibernating, which meant he had to give back the commemorative wall plaque and stop calling himself that.
Ambassadorship
Cobalt serves as Boink's ambassador to Earth.
One might question how Cobalt was chosen to be the ambassador to Earth. In point of fact it came down to a process of elimination. Only two Delos lived on Earth, one had to become the ambassador, and of the two, Cobalt and Talboc, it was decided that "the evil one" was probably not the first choice. (Consequently, upon learning of this fact, Talboc had his business card changed to simply read "The Evil One" and demanded people start using that as his official title.)
Neither Twinkle the Foozle nor Pleasure the Foozle wanted the job, because it came with a uniform, which meant that clothing was required.
The Skypad
Cobalt Lives with Twinkle the Foozle in a restored Futuro Skypad on the planet Earth, which he rescued from a junkyard. The house, not the planet.
Vehicles
Cobalt has four primary modes of transportation:
The Flying Bubble Car
This is a small UFO-like flying saucer with a glass bubble top, of Foozle design. It seats two, and can be used for travel in atmosphere or in space.
Starship Awesome
Starship Awesome is the ship Cobalt uses on his diplomatic missions. It is piloted by Moonmist, but is on standby for his use at all times.
Thunderbug
This is a vintage VW dune buggy that Cobalt built in his garage as a weekend hobby project. It has a sparkle-blue gelcoat finish, with red and yellow lightning bolts on the sides, and white-painted trim accessories. It runs on four Bearpaws radial tires, mounted to classic five-slot rally rims.
The Time Rotor
This is the remnant sum of the escape mechanism that the Delos used to travel from their dimension into this one. It is a large white sphere with rings of blue chaser lights around either side, which is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. It can be used to time-travel, or dimension-hop. It ended up in Cobalt's hands, because after the Delos were released from it, it somehow locked itself spacially and temporally to the location of the downstairs lounge in Cobalt's Skypad, and as such it has a tendency to return there as its default location.
Music
Beneath the quonset hut that Cobalt uses as a garage for Thunderbug, he has constructed a small basement studio where he likes to fool around with a collection of vintage synthesizers and drum machines, to compose and record music which he releases under his own name. He also uses the garage as practice space for his weekend garage band Cobalt And The Aquabears.
